Our Mission:
Brian has spent 8 years in the Green Industry.
He has worked as a crew member, customer service representative,
salesman and sales manager. He first began working with Valley
Landscaping in 1999. Brian is a member of the Southwest Virginia Nursery & Landscape Association, PLANET (Professional Land care Network), Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and the Perennial Plant Association. Brian holds an Associates of Agriculture Degree, Landscape and Turf Management. Brian is a member of the Virginia Department of
Agriculture, and holds a Certified Pesticide Applicator's License. BEN HALE: Sales Manager:

He has 18 years of customer service experience and 13 years of management experience. Ben started with Valley Landscaping in 1998 and works with all aspects of the landscape division, specializing in seeding and grading and commercial landscaping. Ben works with the entire sales team at Valley in an effort to provide our customers with the best possible service. Ben often livens up the office with his plethora of musical numbers. Ben is a member of the Southwest Virginia Nursery & Landscape Association, PLANET (Professional Land care Network), Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and the Perennial Plant Association. Ben has an Associates Degree in Small Business Management Bens holds a Certified Pesticide Applicators
License from the Virginia Department of Agriculture.
Jennifer is a graduate of the Horticulture Department at Virginia Tech. Jennifer has been working in horticulture ever since. Her education and work experience is focused on residential landscaping, with personal interests in vegetable gardening, native plants and organics. Since 2003, Jennifer has worked with Valley Landscaping through the garden center, specializing in customer service and plant care. Her responsibilities include management and purchasing for the garden center and providing an excellent shopping experience for all of our customers. She recently bought her first home in Blacksburg with her boyfriend John and their two dogs, and is really looking forward to gardening in her new yard! Affiliations: PPA, VNLA
Alex has been in the green industry for 11 years. He started when he was 16 years old in lawn maintenance, since then he has gained valuable first hand knowledge with his experiences as a landscape foreman, landscape manager, garden center manager and sales rep. Alex has also worked on a tree farm and has grading experience and knows erosion and sediment control. Alex holds an associates degree of Agriculture, and Landscape and Turf Management and also attending Virginia Tech. Alex is also a member of Smith Mountain Lake Chamber of Commerce.
Cindy became a member of Valley Landscaping in the Spring of 2007. Cindy moved back to the New River Valley after enjoying living in Florida for the past 20 years, and we are very pleased that she has joined the Valley Team. Cindy assists in the daily production of Landscaping and Lawn Maintenance. We all know how daily schedules change in the production field and Cindy does a great job keeping the Production Mangers on track. Hunter has been with Valley Landscaping since 1996, and has experience in almost every aspect of the productions side of the business, from lawn maintenance to a variety of landscaping. Hunter also hold a Registered Pesticide Technician Certificate and is a member of the Southwest Virginia Nursery & Landscape Association, PLANET (Professional Land care Network), Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and the Perennial Plant Association. VANGELOS: Landscape Designer / Sales Daphne has spent nine years in the Green Industry. She became interested in plants at a young age with the help of her grandmother, Mattie. Their positive experiences together when she was younger led Daphne to spend the past 12 years generating an even greater passion for plants and horticulture. After receiving a degree in horticulture from Virginia Tech in 1998, Daphne gained valuable work experience at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg for three seasons where she achieved the position of lead gardener. She has been with us at Valley Landscaping since 2001. She enjoys every second of her job responsibilities including customer service and client relationships, sales, design, and field work with the Valley crews. Daphne is currently taking Master Gardener classes through Virginia Cooperative Extension and looks forward to serving her community by helping others understand and grow to love horticulture as much as she does. Daphne is a member of the Southwest Virginia Nursery & Landscape Association, PLANET (Professional Land care Network), Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and the Perennial Plant Association. Daphne holds a B.S. degree in Horticulture from Virginia Tech; 1998 She also holds a Certified Pesticide Applicators License from the Virginia Department of Agriculture. Daphne has also served as the chairperson of the Flower Department for the Newport Agricultural Fair since 2001. TODD

toddwalters@valleylandscapingva.com Todd has over 18 years experience in the Green Industry. Todd founded Valley Landscaping, Inc. in 1991. Before opening his own business, he mowed lawns while attending Virginia Tech. Todd's love for the business goes back to his days growing up on his family's farm. Todd oversees the total operations of his residential and commercial landscaping and lawn maintenance firm. He also founded Lacies in the Valley in March of 2001, which he named after his grandfather, Lacie Walters. Hardworking and dedicated, Todd values customer relations and continuing education in order to give his clients excellent service. Todd is a member of the Southwest Virginia Nursery & Landscape Association, PLANET (Professional Land care Network, Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and the Perennial Plant Association and Virginia Turf Grass Council. Todd has an Associates of Agriculture Degree, Landscape and Turf Management, Virginia Tech, 1991 Todd holds a Certified Pesticide Applicators License from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Versa-Lok Certified Installer.
Shelane has been with Valley Landscaping for seven years. Prior to the opening of the Garden Center, she worked for the company watering plants and gathering materials together for landscape jobs. Shelane played a big part in the building and opening of the Garden Center, and has been working here ever since. She previously drove a school bus for 21 years while working part time with the Garden Center, until this year where she assumed a full time position as the Assistant Garden Center Manager. Shelane is very excited about her change in careers. Her love of gardening shows each day as she helps care for our plants and talks to customers about what grows well for her. She has acquired her knowledge and experience hands-on, through her beautiful garden at home as well as in reading books and magazines devoted to horticulture. Shelane lives in Ellett Valley with her husband. She has two grown sons and a beautiful new granddaughter, "Sage."
Jim has been in the green industry for over 20
years. His experience ranges from landscaping to growing landscape
crops, purchasing and management. He received his Horticulture
degree from the University of Georgia. His wide knowledge of
plants stems from his work across the country, from Georgia to Colorado

In addition to working on a tree farm planting, shearing and digging trees, he has also worked for three other companies as a landscape laborer learning the ins and outs of landscape installation and maintenance. Mark has also worked as a landscape supervisor and he is now a landscape production manager here at Valley and enjoys the practical application of the business. He truly enjoys hardscaping, waterscapes, and painting pictures with plants. His dedication to excellence is what drives him to do better with each passing job. "Never say quit". He has worked as a crew member and supervisor in all facets of lawn care and owned a lawn maintenance company for 16 of those 25 years before coming to work with Valley Landscaping, in the Spring of 2006. Tony specializes in the management of maintenance for lawns and landscapes. Whether it's a commercial or residential property, he will go the extra mile to ensure you receive a maintenance program that is tailored to your specific needs, while guaranteeing you receive the quality of workmanship you deserve.
